Cultural Odyssey Of Odisha

Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Puri, Chilika Lake, Rayagada, Jeypore, Hyderabad.

Overview

This route caters to both seasoned Indian enthusiasts and newcomers looking to deviate from the well-trodden paths, opting instead for a journey off the beaten track. It traverses a diverse and captivating landscape: from magnificent medieval temples and ancient Buddhist sites to a world-renowned bird reserve, lively traditional crafts villages, and the wave-kissed beaches along the Bay of Bengal. The itinerary also includes encounters with minority communities in secluded forest districts, culminating in the opulence associated with the Nizams of Hyderabad. The tour begins and concludes in two contrasting megacities, each offering a unique ambience. Kolkata, the former British capital situated along the Ganges, showcases a blend of Raj-era structures against the backdrop of ancient temples and bustling markets. Meanwhile, Hyderabad boasts historic forts and palaces rising on the outskirts of a dynamic and modern metropolis. While the infrastructure, including road conditions, accommodation, and communications, may be basic in certain parts of Odisha, the region's experiential richness far surpasses any temporary lack of creature comforts for most travellers.
